Print Workshop

Inspired by the Birmingham riot prints for andy Warhol, I wanted to create my own relating to the birth of graffiti in the 60s hi hop era. I wanted to keep the motif of the anonymous face so selected this image from the Universal Hip Hop Museum, with the visors across the face to represent this. I really like this image and think it is very strong as repeat pattern. I then experimented with the print on different coloured fabric and different textures. I plan to embellish these with more print or drawing, as well as combining them with typically 'high fashion' fabrics to create that contrast.
